POC Day ‘Latin American Point of Care Meeting’ is a multidisciplinary scientific event, whose objective is to show the benefits of the POC (Point of Care) technology, also called fast tests, to access immediate, reliable and accessible information for the health professionals, contributing to better clinical, operating and economic results.
Specialists from different Latin-American countries present different visions of the technology’s use, showing experiences and success cases, in addition to raising discussions about access and economic and regulatory models of the Point of Care.
The meeting gathers national and international speakers, research groups’ representatives, medical societies, large industry companies and agencies, which bring to the ‘Point of Care Day’ discussions about the use of the technology in different health areas such as epidemics management, chronical diseases, hospital flow, infectious diseases, toxicology, perioperative care, emergency services and intensive care.
It also raises topics about the situation of the Point of Care in Latin America, adoption of the solutions in public policies and its regulation in the region, connectivity and indicators such as quality control, cost and benefit and the sector’s future trends.
Diagnostic tests using remote devices, better known as Point of Care, allow the patient to have decisions made rapidly at the emergency units, helping health professionals better conduct the clinical decision.
